I'm leaving for Spain in less than three weeks!I'm really excited... and maybe a little nervous about the whole thing. Mostly excited though, I think.
Anyhow, I'm taking a Spanish boot camp / Teaching ESL class and learning some interesting things about the Spanish country and culture:
- People eat many foods with a fork and knife, including croissants and apples. Eating is more of a big deal over there. Also, nobody eats on the subway. It's considered rude.
- Nobody ever walks around their house barefoot.
- No one really leaves voicemails for each other. Just about anything can be accomplished with a text message.

Well I belong in Spain (or at least Europe) because we all know how most communication with me is all by Text Message, and food is beautiful (Only an Italian describes food as "beautiful), i love to eat. But apple with a fork will be as hard for me to do as trying those chopsticks at Grasshoppers. Now I jsut got sad because I have no one to go there with for 10 months!!! miss u.

i eat pizza with a fork, and knife. I'm sure i'd adapt well, currently i' m clutching some cuttery and wondering where i left that darned banana..miss you;)
fork thing: strangely true.
subway thing: mostly true. one time i ate an extra large pizza on it, and i had to share w/this little girl that was next to me eying it.
barefoot thing: definitely true. "if you don't wear socks in the kitchen, you'll get electrocuted and die." fucking ridiculous spanish.
mobile thing: definitely true. the other thing is the llamada perdida. so annoying.
